Good Morning folks,
I would like to share
with all presents the joy of last Saturday in São Paulo, during the lunch
held in homage to our dearest OLAVO / PY5GA, recently assigned DX CARD CHECKER.
One of the most relevant speeches is following transcribed, but before
reading this important homage, I would like to make some comments on the
event. The significant number of persons present to
the event, coming from the whole country, celebrating jointly with Olavo,
and so well planned by our colleague César – PY2YP, at "Grill Hall
– Os Prazeres da Carne". I must confess that the food was not the highest
point of the event, even so we were there to celebrate such a special occasion,
but persons were the most important, mainly for companionship.
All
radio-ham interests were therein represented by different groups and associations
joined by the common interest – including Beto from Northeast, and Miguel
– PY3MM from Rio Grande do Sul to prove that occasions like this are rare
now-a-days, but the TEAM WORK remains.
After
the lunch, full of joy and enthusiasm (certainly many photos will prove
it, due to the large number of cameras in the event), we met at the lounge
of the restaurant as to render homage to Olavo, starting with Vitor – PY2NY
from Jaboticabal who expressed our feelings and we would like to tell Olavo
– but due to circumstances like this, words do not express the emotions
that involved all of us, (people who know Olavo will understand, or are
there anybody who does not it?). Vitor was very fortunate in expressing
our feelings through his speech.
Following
we were privileged to learn a lesson of life and humbleness from Olavo who,
calmly used the work to thank and tell us stories and remembrances with
his proper words full of emotion. He
showed us his nomination was not a casualty, but the result of years of
working, showing in a very clear way and with simplicity – one of his strong
characteristics – that his really is a radio encyclopedia with global expertise.
Next
Sérgio – PPP5JR , Serginho, also rendered his homage, full of emotion by
means of simple but rich words. All people present were touched and some
tears came to Sergio eyes and ours interrupting his speech. Congratulations, Serginho, for your beautiful words.
Afterwards,
Olavo received from Atilano de Oms Sobrinho PY5EG - Araucária DX Group an
award in acknowledgement and thanks in name of Araucária DX Group, in name
of all Brazilian radio-amateurs and respective groups. More emotions in the air…
Finally,
we had our major representative Gustavo – PT2ADM, who rendered homage in
name of Labre / Confederação, and all people present, transmitting with
his hug the great force of a joint work and stimulation from each of us
at that moment.
Every one could feel well
represented at this event for these GIANTS who have done so much in favor
of our treasured hobby.
