ZW 5 BMULTI/SINGLE

The Araucaria Dx Group has been active again with several stations as following:

    1. ZW5B multi single operation PY5EG’s QTH in Curitiba.
    2. ZX0F multi single operation from Fernando de Noronha Island
    3. ZX5J single band 15 meters from new antenna farm Boa Vista, in Sta .Catarina.
    4. PP5UA single band 40 meters from Boa Vista
    5. PP5UB single band 10 meters from Boa Vista
    6. ZV8C single band 15 meters Rondonia.
    7. ZW5W single band 20 meters from Boa Vista.

The operation ZW5B had the objectives to train some new members and operators of The Araucaria Dx Group, and at the same time to test the use of packet cluster with the K1EA software.

Both objectives have been accomplished. PY5GU Gus, and PY1 Marcelo operated the station for most of the time and made a terrific improvement on their techniques. We think that those two new operators could substitute in the next future OMS PY5EG and PETER PY5CC.

In the other hand we had the pleasure to have our old timer PY2BW Egon operating the ZW5B’s station.

The use of packet cluster trough the K1EA was really fantastic. We use the packet via telnet DXTELNET and the two computers with network. In the next contests we know that this weapon will be very important for our competitiveness.
