DX Araucária 3 rd Intl. Meeting

 

DX Araucária 3rd International Meeting was held on July 4th in Curitiba City, PR – Brazil. With the same objective which oriented the two previous international meetings, i.e. to gather ham radio in a contest aiming at stimulating the participation of Brazilian ham radio in international contests, this time we gathered 216 ham radio participants from different estates around the country.

The program complied of:

 
  1. Introduction of DX Grupo Araucária by Atilano PY5EG through an institutional video showing the history and the successful events occurred since 1983
  2. Lecture on DX practices by Atilano by PY5EG
  3. Lecture on contests participation by Peter PY5CC
  4. Lecture on DXCC, its history and forecasts by Olavo PY5GA
  5. Lecture on propagation and Moon bounce by Don PY5ZBU
  6. Description of Boa Vista Contest Station - Araucária Sta.Catarina Section by Sérgio PP5JR
  7. Visit to PY5EG shack led by Atilano PY5EG

No dia anterior tivemos a oportunidade de participar do Encontro de confraternização promovido pela LABRE Paraná e a Escola Paranaense de Radioamadores, ocasião em que foi feita uma apresentação completa dos trabalhos da Escola estimulando a sua utilização como centro irradiador de conhecimento do radioamadorismo como um todo.

A LABRE PR , por sua vez conclamou a comunidade a filiar-se à Entidade, principalmente através de Clubes e Grupos de Radioamadores. Deu-se ênfase à criação desses clubes no interior dos diversos Estados, objetivando, principalmente a atração da juventude à prática do radioamadorismo.

The day before we attended the fraternization meeting sponsored by LABRE Paraná and Paraná Ham Radio School, when we had the opportunity to get acquainted with School activities and efforts to stimulate radio amateurs to use its facilities as a knowledge and experience center for ham radio activities.

LABRE PR, at its turn, appealed for the participation of the community to affiliate to the entity mainly through Clubs and Ham Radio Groups. Emphasis was given to the creation of such clubs in the interior of States, mainly aiming at attracting teenagers participation.
