2006 - RULES



1. PURPOSE - The CWJF Manchester Mineira All America Contest – CWJF MMAA is starting from this year (2006) a contest among America, being organized by CWJF – Juiz de Fora CW Group in commemoration to Juiz de Fora City birthday and has as objective:

    1.1. Promote the reconciliation between the ham radio operators of South and North America;

    1.2. Celebrate of Juiz de Fora City birthday;

    1.3. Promote conditions for obtaining of the Diplomas of CWJF;

    1.4. Integrate the ham radio operators, Clubs and CW practicing Groups of South and North America.



2. PERIOD – May, 3rd weekend.
Start: 15:00UTC - Saturday (May, 20);
End: 23:59UTC - Sunday (May, 21).


3. MODE & BANDS - Exclusively CW (A1A), and Bands 80m, 40m, 20m, 15m and 10m.


4. CATEGORIES - South America & North America:

    4.1. SOSB – Single Operator Single Band (80, 40, 20, 15, or 10m);

    4.2. SOAB – Single Operator All Bands;

    4.3. SOAB QRP – Single Operator All Bands QRP (Maximum output power: 5 watts);

    4.4. M/S – Multi Operator Single Transmitter All Bands.


5. CONTACTS - Two-way QSO confirmed between stations on the same country or different countries, independent of the continent (South America and North America – official DXCC list), allowed repetition of contacts in different bands.


6. CQ MESSAGE - "CQ TEST JF"


7. EXCHANGE

    7.1. All stations: send RST + Continent. i.e. “599 SA” or “599 NA”;

    7.2. CWJF Members: send RST + Continent/M. i.e. “599 SA/M;

    7.3. QRP Stations: send RST + Continent/QRP. i.e.”599 NA/QRP” (even member);

    7.4. YL Operator: send RST + Continent/YL. i.e. “599 SA/YL” (even if member or QRP).


8. POINTS - All bands (80m, 40m, 20m, 15m and 10m):

    8.1. QSO confirmed in the same Country: 1 point;

    8.2. QSO confirmed with Country of the same continent: 2 points;

    8.3. QSO confirmed with Country of another continent: 3 points;

    8.4. QSO confirmed with the CWJF Members, QRP Stations or YL Operator: 5 points.


9. MULTIPLIERS

    9.1. South America Station: all the different PREFIXES worked on each band. (i.e. AA2 - AF1 - CP1 - CX9 - HP1 - K3 - KGØ - LU2 - LW9 - N7 - NA3 - OA4 - PP1 - PY4 - VE3 - W6 - WA8 - XE3 - YV1 - ZP5 - ZZ4 - 6Y5 - 9Y4, etc);

    9.2. North America Stations: the different South America PREFIXES worked in each band. (i.e. CE3 - CP6 - CX2 - HC5 - HK1 - LU4 - LW9 - OA4 - PP1 - PT7 - PY4 - PY8 - XQ3 - YV1 - ZP5 - ZY7 - ZZ4, etc).


10. FINAL SCORE - Sum of points obtained in each band, multiplied by sum of the multipliers in each band.


11. DXCluster® - DXCluster® network usage is allowed for all categories. The participants can receive information from DXCluster®, however is strictly prohibited seft-spot or request, by any mean, that others announce you during the contest. The violation of this rule can result in penalties or even in disqualification.


12. AWARDS

    12.1. ALL AMERICAN CHAMPION TROPHY Will be honored to station (independent of the continent), that obtains the largest final score, the absolute winner. Doesn’t compete to this trophy the stations of the category "4.4.".

    12.2. PLATES will be honored to station on each Continent (South America and North America), that obtain the 1st place in each category.

    12.3. CERTIFICATES will be honored to station or club/group station of South America and North America, that obtain the 2nd and 3rd places in your respective categories.

    12.4. CWJF – MANCHESTER MINEIRA TROPHY will be honored to the club/group station (independent of the continent), that you obtain the largest final score.


13. LOGS. All logs should be sent by e-mail or by postal mail (postmark date) until July 30. We bly motivate to send the log by electronic way to email: cwjf@powerline.com.br, preferentially in the cabrillo format.


14. RESULTS. The contest results will be published in the CWJF electronic page (http://www.powerline.com.br/cwjf), 60 days before the next contest. The participant that has interest in receiving the printed contest result book by mail, should send USD$5 or 3 IRC's to addressed: CWJF, Manchester Mineira Contest, P. O. Box 410, Juiz de Fora-MG, 36001-970, Brazil. The awards will be sent to the winners, with no charge.


The Contest Organization motivates the usage of special call during the contest, taking advantage to use it also the following weekend, when CQ WPX Contest is accomplished.
